Isolite is seeking a passionate, experienced, and professional electrical engineer to support our growing product development needs. As a key contributor to our technical team, you will interface with our engineering and manufacturing teams to develop exciting new products and to support existing product lines.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of analog circuitry, digital circuitry and supporting firmware for the following applications:
    • Switching power supplies
    • High and low power LED light sources
    • Communication interfaces
  • PCB Layout using CAD Design Tools: proficient with PADS PCB Layout and PADS Logic, DX Designer schematic capture. Pertaining to rigid and flexible printed circuits boards.
  • Design and development of a mixture of Analog and Digital circuitry, which includes technologies such as Buck, Boost, and Sepic converters.
  • Knowledge of IPC and related industry standards for PCB, and electromechanical products.
  • Device testing, performance measurements to evaluate results.­
  • Electronic component evaluation and qualification, based on analysis of specifications to meet reliability criteria and product cost objectives.
  • Bills of Materials preparation, fabrication, and assembly documentation along with product and sub assembly test procedures.
  • Acquire knowledge of Underwriters Laboratories Codes requirements. Consult and/or meet with UL representatives to resolve pertinent issues.
  • Present and participation in product related Design Reviews.
  • Continuous improvement and expansion role. Contribute new ideas to develop well valued products.
  • Electronic designs and hardware, including schematics involving battery charging, high power LED light sources, switching converters and other technologies.
  • PCB Layout using CAD Design Tools: proficient with PADS PCB Layout and PADS Logic, DX Designer schematic capture. Pertaining to rigid and flexible printed circuits boards.

Required Talents & Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in power circuit designs.
  • Quality and detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years minimum design and development experience with analog and microcontroller-based circuitry. A design background in the Lighting Industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, schematic entry, and PCB layout software. With a working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and 3D Solid Works considered as a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Desire to learn, grow, change, and work as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities in an organized manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Participation in the lighting, inverter or similar industry
  • Experience with the use of FEA tools and software
  • Embedded software experience.
  • Experience in power circuit designs for use with 120VAC and 277VAC electrical networks.

Physical Demands

  • Able to bend, squat, twist, climb stairs and lift frequently
  • While performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, talk and hear with occasional bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling.
  • Regularly required to use hands to fingers.
  • Duties require use of computer software and equipment that involve regularly sitting for extended periods of time and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 lbs.
